 Learn how to thread the machine, fill a bobbin, balance the tension, and sew a straight seam. Create a tote bag while you practice. (Supplies not included)


REQUIRED Supplies:

  • Two (2) pieces coordinating 100% cotton quilting fabric in the following amounts: Fabric 1 (1yd), Fabric 2 (1/2 yd)
  • All-purpose thread
  • Sewing shears
  • Straight pins
  • Size 11 universal sewing machine needles
  • Sewing machine manual (if you bring your own machine

Basic Fixes, Hems and Buttons

 Sew on a button and hem your jeans. This class covers those basic fixes you can do at home. Note: You must already have a basic knowledge of a sewing machine. (Supplies not included)


REQUIRED Supplies:

  • About a yard of cotton woven fabric
  • All-purpose thread
  • A pair of jeans that need a hem (or grab something really inexpensive at a thrift store to learn on)
  • Hand needles
  • 4-6 ½ inch buttons
  • Sewing shears
  • Measuring tape
  • Ruler
  • Fabric marking tool (marker, chalk, soap bit, etc.)
  • Straight pins
  • Size 11 universal sewing machine needles
  • Sewing machine manual (if you bring your own machine)

Pattern Basics- PJ Pants

Grain lines, tissue patterns, notches and dots! Put all these things together to create a pair of pajama pants! We will also discuss casings, hems, and elastic. You can bring your own sewing machine or use one of the machines provided. Note: You must already have a basic knowledge of a sewing machine. (Supplies not included)


REQUIRED Supplies:

  • Pattern for pajama pants (elastic waist, with or without drawstring)
  • Fabric (amount specified on pattern envelope)
  • 2 yards 1/2 inch wide elastic
  • All-purpose thread
  • Sewing shears
  • Hem Gauge
  • Straight pins
  • Size 11 universal sewing machine needles
  • Sewing machine manual (if you bring your own machine)
